Inverness Angling Club will celebrate the opening day of the 2015 salmon season with a ceremony at the Mill Stream Pool, by Holm Mills, at 10 for 10.30 am on Monday February 2. The event, once again, will be sponsored by the Holm Mills Shopping Village whose manager, Neil Soutar, will follow the tradition of blessing the water with a large dram.

Club members are asked to gather in the main mill car park, in waders and with fishing rods, from where Pipe Major Ken Watson will lead the march to the river. Following the ceremony, coffee, tea and bacon rolls will be provided in the mill’s Ghillie’s Restaurant. Membership secretary Alex Elliott will have season permits available for purchase for all membership categories, including a £100 special offer for anglers within the immediate area of the City of Inverness who have not been members of the club within the last five years.
